Mission and Vision Statements for Your Life

April 19, 2027 @ 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm PST

When I first encountered a Mission Statement, I found that it covered most of what I had naturally done all my life – in my case, it was teach – the subjects may not have been the same, the action was. A Mission Statement is clear, concise, descriptive and true – one sentence, easily remembered and extremely useful.

When I wrote my Mission Statement out (teach whom, how, and to what result) I found that simple sentence helped me make all kids of decisions, large and small – did an action fit under the umbrella of my “mission” in life? Yes? It’s a go! No? Then let’s save time and not go down that path – it won’t fit me.

A Mission Statement is a description of who you are and what you are about in this lifetime – it is a short, simple, easy to remember sentence that is totally you and what you do in your life. The Mission Statement doesn’t change.

Once you have your mission in words you can use it to make all kinds of decisions – does a presenting opportunity/request fit under the umbrella of your Mission? Yes? Go for it! No? Save time and energy – say, “No, thank you,” or “Not right now, thanks,” up front.

A Vision Statement changes with time and circumstances – it is how you bring yourself and your Mission Statement into the world at any given time.

Let your imagination dream up what you might do and how you might want to do it!
