History and Core Values of Reiki Home
In 2009, during the retreat of the Office of the Grand Master (OGM) a small group considered the value of a home for Usui Shiki Ryoho. This group came from different countries and all levels of initiation. Following the retreat, they continued to listen for the next year, individually and collectively, to Reiki’s invitation to explore the concept of a “home” for Reiki.
At the 2010 OGM Retreat, the Home group shared its journey. The energy and desire for Reiki Home arose and exploded in a celebration of affirmation. The Home group continued to hold the energy for another year. It was also at this retreat that the idea of purchasing Kenyon Ranch was presented. When it was not feasible to purchase the property, the time, money and energy went into building Reiki Home.
In 2011, a new Board of Directors was formed and asked to hold the legal entity and vision of Reiki Home. In 2012, the Board made a commitment to follow the regenerative process in the way that they conduct their work. It was at that time the Board started the process of becoming inclusive of all Reiki students, lineages, and practices.
The Board continues to deepen its understanding of the Regenerative Frameworks and creates Chartered Teams for specific tasks to support the work of Reiki Home. Listening for Reiki’s direction, the Board is expanding its capabilities and capacity to carry the vision and work of Reiki Home forward into the future.
