I heard about Reiki in 2003, while working in Berlin as a Dutch diplomat. I was looking into alternative ways of healing a son, who dealt with chronic health issues. A year later, I was working in Berlin and took the class.

Reiki has supported me since the first attunements in a gentle way to reconnect with my being, peeling off layer by layer, gradually, shedding all that is not essential. With Reiki, I became more open to herself, the people around her and aware of her choices and environment. This ongoing and deepening experience inspires her every day. What once started as ‘homework’, with the advice of practicing daily, became an anchor in life. Years later, while working in South Africa, I started giving Reiki treatments to people outside the family and friends’ realm. Knowing that there would come an end to my position, I wished I could teach them to practice self-treatment. This inspired me to become a Reiki Master.

I began my journey as a Reiki Master candidate in 2016. Over the years, it became clear that supporting people with Reiki was more meaningful than to work on international affairs.

In 2018, I left my position and started my practice as a full-time Reiki practitioner and career coach. I met my master and was initiated in August 2021. The journey of living in Reiki continues. I expressed gratitude for being a witness of Reiki Home board meetings.
