Takata’s Legacy Within the Global Community. In January, we celebrated the growth of Reiki in the forty years since Hawayo Takata made her transition in December 1980. She dedicated her life to the practice of Reiki, teaching many students during the over 40 years of her teaching practice. In the last years of her life, she trained a number of Masters to carry on her work. In the 40 years since her death, her Masters and their Masters continued to grow and evolve the practice of Reiki creating a variety of styles and practices. The international interest in Reiki helped instigate the emergence of other Reiki styles from Japan that do not include Hawayo Takata in their lineages. A world community is forming that contains diverse attitudes towards practice and lineage. What is the current state of the global Reiki community? What lies beyond? What will unfold in the next 40 years? And, as a community committed to honoring its elders, what place will Takata-sensei’s legacy hold as we move forward together into this future?Join our Circle of Scholars as we continue the discussion of the state of Reiki. During this special two-hour webcast, we will consider how we as Reiki students arrived in this place and where Reiki may be leading the global community. All events are listed in PST.
