SUMMARY:CoS - Reiki History and Reiki Practice-Series IV
DESCRIPTION:Part of the practice of Reiki is telling stories about our lineage: where the practice came from and how it came to us. In recent years\, historians of Reiki have discovered new primary sources that help us better understand the history of the practice and shed light on why we do what we do.\n\nIn this Circle of Scholars offering\, Justin Stein\, PhD\, will provide an overview of Reiki history\, introduce recent findings and theories\, and offer reflections on how they might inform our practice. The material presented will draw on Justin’s forthcoming book\, Alternate Currents: Reiki’s Circulation in the Twentieth-Century North Pacific (University of Hawaii Press\, available September 30)\, as well as his other published and forthcoming works.\n\nThis session is the first part in a series of videos that Justin will be producing for Reiki Home on the history and practice of Reiki.
