DESCRIPTION:Guest is Duncan Cross PhD \nIn this webcast\, Duncan will present research undertaken with Reiki practitioners in the United Kingdom.  The survey was developed in early 2021 to take a snapshot of the UK Reiki Federation membership to understand how people came to learn Reiki\, their educational journey with Reiki\, and finally the impact that it had on their lives. \nThe survey provided insights into the age of participants\, length of Reiki journey\, what they learnt and how that correlates with a core curriculum for Reiki. Many reported positively on health\, relationships\, spiritual development\, and life. The reported positive benefits included: 86% of participants improved mental health; 79% of participants improved health; 79% of participants increased positive interactions; 89% of participants more spiritual after undertaking Reiki training. \nDuncan Cross PhD\, is the Research Coordinator for the UK Reiki Federation and the Head of Education at a Northern UK University. Duncan sits on a number of international advisory groups for education\, he is a National Teaching Fellow\, Principal Fellow of the Higher Education Academy\, and a Fellow of the Society for Education and Training. He studied different Western and Japanese styles. He is a clinical psychologist and is the National Manager of Italy’s Department of Holistic Science & Technique of AICS (Culture and Sport Italian Association). He is also the founder of the Italian Reiki school ReikiLife Cifor. Graziano is eager to internationalize Italy’s Reiki community. He has been involved for four years in a holistic project hosted by one of the biggest shopping centers in Italy. There is offers\, for free\, consults and Reiki treatments to the customers. One is that in current crises like the Covid pandemic and the war in Ukraine\, Reiki is not on the radar of decision makers for support. The narrative of his life includes stories of him healing people in some instances by the laying on of hands. Today and historically\, in Christian Churches\, the laying on of hands is used as a symbolic and formal method of invoking the Holy Spirit primarily during baptisms and confirmations\, healing services\, blessings\, and ordination of priests. We also know that Takata introduced some Christian terminology in her presentation of Reiki practice\, therefore some practitioners started thinking that there is a connection between the laying on of hands as known in the narrative of Jesus and as performed in Reiki. He will present on Reiki\, Biophysics and Spontaneous Order Creation – Quantum Physics and Thermodynamics are used to explain the Reiki Phenomenon. \nThis presentation introduces a new paradigm of Reiki based on scientific knowledge\, more precisely on quantum physics and thermodynamics. Contrary to the commonly held idea that reiki is an energy\, Reiki is understood here as a creative or negentropic physical principle acting within living beings. The restoration of well-being and health is then the result of electromagnetic transformative processes leading to more coherence and harmony\, in the vibrational or quantum sense\, in accordance with the principles of thermodynamics. It follows that the heat produced by the patient’s hands or body as commonly observed is not due to an injection of supposed energy but to the release of a dynamic disorder of a vibrational nature.  A scientific understanding of spirituality also emerges from this new Reiki paradigm. This presentation is based on ongoing research that should lead to the publication of a scientific paper. \nThe 2-hour presentation will include a presentation followed by a generous amount of time for a question/answer period and discussion. \nFrancis Vendrell is a Doctor of Physics\, Reiki teacher and Zen monk. From this combination of interests came a long quest to understand the nature of Reiki and its mechanisms of action on a scientific basis. He has been teaching the Reiki method in his school in Geneva (Switzerland) since 2000. He is also the current president of the SwissReiki association and of ERG (European Reiki Group).\n \n

DESCRIPTION:In this trilogy of webcasts\, Jojan began with his August presentation on the dimension of mysticism and mystical experiences of Reiki practice.  In September Jojan and Dori began a discussion on “The dimension of extrasensory perception\,” a chapter from their recent book Reiki Practice and Surrender. The book discusses Reiki from the perspective of the five senses and this topic considers the “sixth sense\,” which is often left at the margins of science and daily discussion. \nIn this webcast\, we complete our discussion as we go deeper into the questions. \nWe use the terms paranormal and mystical to account for experiences that do not easily fit into what might be called a “this world reality” nor can be easily theorized. Also\, it may not be part of the teachings of your own practiced Reiki style and yet it may occur in your own life. In this webcast\, we open the space for hearing personal practitioner experiences that touch on the paranormal. She dedicated her life to the practice of Reiki\, teaching many students during the over 40 years of her teaching practice. In the 40 years since her death\, her Masters and their Masters continued to grow and evolve the practice of Reiki creating a variety of styles and practices. A world community is forming that contains diverse attitudes towards practice and lineage. What is the current state of the global Reiki community? What lies beyond? What will unfold in the next 40 years? Reiki\, the practice to which she dedicated her life has continued to grow and evolve during these past 40 years. In the 1990s\, Reiki practitioners traveled to Japan seeking to discover what remained of the practice Takata learned in the 1930s.
