SUMMARY:Circle of Scholars: Reiki and the Future
DESCRIPTION:There are several reasons to reflect on the future of Reiki. One is that in current crises like the Covid pandemic and the war in Ukraine\, Reiki is not on the radar of decision makers for support. Besides that\, such crises come with consequences like an increase of distant treatments and classes\, and a noticeable desire for another mindset to cope and/or solve such crises which may require a more prominent role of the Precepts. \nIn this webcast we will reflect on some of those consequences like\, (1) how to evaluate Reiki in the light of trends and crisis in society\, (2) how to reposition Reiki in society so that it becomes more visible for decision makers and an obvious choice for support\, (3) what is the current status regarding distant treatment and classes\, and (4) since many of those crises must be solved through another mindset\, we walk through the Reiki Precepts from a Western perspective and show that (also) seen in this way it can offer a path to the Light\, Source\, God\, oneness or whatever you like to call it. \nTo find your own time\, please use the World Clock Converter. \nThis webcast is recorded. SUMMARY:CoS – Mystical Experiences in Reiki - Exploring Nameless Experiences
DESCRIPTION:Reiki aims for an improvement of holistic well-being in whatever way defined. The practice\, however\, may bring extraordinary encounters sometimes labelled as mystical experiences. This belongs to the category of experiences where there is no mental concept involved but only the experience. A unique perception that according to some gives joy\, leads to imperturbable peace\, to recognition that lies in every flower or every particle of dust\, and to unconditional liberation from the human condition. Enlightenment\, the attainment of Tao\, union with divinity are merely lofty sounding designations. The experience is nameless\, perceptible as light\, but completely beyond description and takes place before it can be given words. \nBased on his analysis of such experiences\, the Dutch scholar Prof. Dr. Kees Waaijman suggests ten recognizable characteristics of which some may occur in a mystical experience.\nIn 2010\, Jojan Jonker created a study on such experiences with a specific group of Reiki Masters\, looking for these characteristics. \nIn this webcast\, the outcome will be presented again and related to the more recent work from Dori Beeler and Jojan Jonker referring to external authority.
